GF kicks off major expansion of​ Dresden semiconductor fab

GF officially broke ground on the expansion of the Dresden fab, marking the next phase of our “SPRINT” expansion project. Together with general construction partner Exyte, we celebrated the ceremonial start of construction at the site.

European sovereign manufacturing

Our Dresden site holds a Common Criteria accreditation – an internationally recognized standard for the production of goods that require an extra level of security and integrity in the manufacturing process. With a proven track record, we maintain stringent processes, equipment and oversight to ensure the secure production of sensitive chips.

Expanding European semiconductor manufacturing

GlobalFoundries’ SPRINT project marks a major expansion of the Dresden fab, strengthening Europe’s semiconductor manufacturing base.
