Community impact

We are committed to being a responsible employer, strong corporate citizen and positive force in the communities our employees call home. Our global community impact efforts are anchored by GlobalGives, our giving and volunteer platform, which brings together corporate philanthropy, employee giving, volunteerism and a company match under one unified framework.

We are dedicated to making an impact

As a major employer in regions around the world, we contribute to local economies, strengthen high‑tech clusters and work closely with community partners to help meet real needs, from disaster relief and humanitarian response to education, workforce development and local nonprofit support.

Our impact is rooted in longstanding programs and powered by our global team, united by a shared commitment to improving lives where we live and work.

Stillwater community grants

Each year, the GF–Town of Stillwater Foundation and the Town of Stillwater partner to support local organizations through an annual community grants program. Applications for the 2026 cycle are now open, offering funding for initiatives that advance education, arts, recreation, health, safety and overall well‑being for Stillwater residents.

Since 2013, the foundation has invested more than $630,000 in community organizations, helping deliver meaningful, locally driven impact year after year.

Workforce & community investments

GF’s workforce and community investments are centered on strengthening the broader semiconductor ecosystem and the regions where GF operates. Areas of investment include deep collaboration with colleges and universities, partnerships with regional museums, and workforce programs such as pre-apprenticeship and pre-employment training to support the communities where we operate.

Global disaster relief & humanitarian response

Through GlobalGives, we rapidly mobilize support across the world when disasters strike — from flooding in Germany and Iowa, to landslides in India, earthquakes in Taiwan and tornado outbreaks across the U.S. We have backed multiple global disaster‑relief campaigns, contributing tens of thousands of dollars to provide emergency shelter, food, medical care and recovery assistance where it was needed most.

Registered apprenticeship program

Our apprenticeship program — the first registered semiconductor apprenticeship in the U.S. — supports community impact by creating pathways into stable, well‑paying careers in advanced manufacturing. Since launching in 2021, the program has expanded, including adding a new trade to further develop and professionalize the technician career pathway. Through hands‑on training, education partnerships and mentorship, the program expands access to technical careers, strengthens local talent pipelines and helps residents build long‑term opportunities in the regions where we operate.

STEM at GF

We are invested in building the semiconductor workforce of tomorrow, and that starts with inspiring interest in STEM today. Through STEM at GF, we connect students, educators and community partners with real engineers, real technology and real pathways into the semiconductor industry.

Our approach spans the full pipeline, from K–12 classroom visits and career exploration events, to educator resources and curriculum support, to immersive programs like our High School Job Shadow Program that bring students on site for hands-on learning. Our trained STEM ambassadors lead structured outreach across our global communities, reaching thousands of students each year.

We also equip educators to bring semiconductor learning into their own classrooms. Through partnerships like our work with the New York State Department of Labor’s Teacher Academy, we train teachers to talk about STEM and GF’s role in it, extending our reach far beyond what our teams could do alone.

These efforts are strengthened by partnerships with FIRST Robotics, Girls Inc., regional school districts, children’s museums and career and technical education organizations, expanding access to STEM learning and building the foundation for the future semiconductor workforce.
