The GF India sites have diverse teams working across engineering, design, fabs, customer support, labs and enabling services. The GF India office in Bengaluru is our largest non-manufacturing site.
Our sites in India represent over 1,400 employees. These teams support our global semiconductor fabrication and manufacturing facilities, with functions including, R&D, IP design, application engineering, quality, manufacturing operations support and enabling services.

At our Bengaluru site, employees enjoy a modern, well-rounded workplace designed to support both work and life. Anything that GF does globally is touched by a member of the GF India team. The site is a microcosm of the company as a whole, with teams working across all key functions. We support all GF fabs globally, driving cross-functional learning and standardization. We are a pioneer in remote fab engineering, providing 24/7 operations support.
Our engineering teams work on fundamental material/process related research & development (TCAD team) all the way to Data Analytics & Cloud. The GF India site is unique with teams working on a breadth of solutions.
We have a strong culture of cross-collaboration across teams, instrumental in creating Centers of Excellence in the areas of radio frequency, silicon photonics, embedded non-volatile memory and more. Approximately 10% of our GF India employees have PhDs, bringing years of learning and experience to the table while strengthening our culture of knowledge sharing.
GF India also has a focus on working with universities to promote workforce development and a deeper understanding of semiconductor technology. This includes engaging with faculty and students through guest lectures, participating as expert panelists at conferences and invited talks, faculty visits to GF and joint curriculum development. GF India has also initiated joint training programs and certification courses with leading institutes, such as the Indian Institute of Technology – Bombay (IIT-B).
