Ken McAvey
Senior Vice President of Central Engineering & Infrastructure
Ken McAvey is Senior Vice President of Central Engineering & Infrastructure at GF, leading the engineering and infrastructure capabilities that underpin the company’s fabs and enable reliable, high-volume semiconductor production. In this role, Mr. McAvey oversees the facilities, utilities and shared engineering standards that enable GF’s global manufacturing footprint.
Mr. McAvey began his career with IBM Microelectronics as a process engineer, going on to hold a variety of technical and leadership positions and eventually becoming the Director of Manufacturing Engineering in 2014. Following IBM’s Microelectronics division acquisition by GF in 2015, Mr. McAvey held several leadership positions at GF including Senior Director of Central Engineering, and most recently Senior Vice President and General Manager of GF’s 200mm semiconductor manufacturing operations in Essex Junction, Vermont.
Mr. McAvey received his bachelor of science degree with distinction in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University in 1997, along with a master’s degree in Engineering and Operations Management from Clarkson in 2008.
