GlobalFoundries (GF) is proud to offer full-time employment in the GF Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship. This unique opportunity allows employees to learn and grow their career towards a Maintenance Technician role and beyond while working in the field.

No previous semiconductor industry experience is required! GF is looking for strong team players with mechanical aptitude, who can handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize activities.

As an employee, you’ll support routine operational processes and equipment needs. This includes:

  • Basic & routine preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Assist in the monitoring of tool performance
  • Assist in the qualification of toolsets
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes

Applicant Requirements and Program Details

Applicants are required to have a high school diploma or equivalent and must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

The apprenticeship is an 18-month Maintenance Technician training program. Training includes a combination of on-the-job training, instructor-led classes, web-based courses, and college courses. Required college courses are available online through Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC). 

Requirements:

  • Completion of on-the-job training hours
  • Completion of 4 grant-funded college courses at HVCC
  • Completion of hands-on mechanical training provided through HVCC
  • All required training is provided at no cost, as part of employment
