Parental Leave Duration

A total of 12 weeks of paid parental leave to US benefits-eligible employees following the birth of an employee’s child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption.

This policy will run concurrently with any Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave and any state or locally required leave benefit, to the extent permitted by law.

Childbirth Short-Term Disability

A total of 20 weeks are available for birth mothers. In the event a female employee who herself has given birth, 12 weeks of paid parental leave will commence at the conclusion of any short-term disability leave/benefit provided to the employee for the employee’s own medical recovery. GF will coordinate with MetLife to provide 8 weeks of short-term disability at 100% of employee’s regular weekly wages for the employee’s own medical recovery, regardless of the type of delivery.

Adoption

Those employees who are adopting or welcoming a child by surrogate will be eligible for an additional 8 weeks of leave to prepare for and/or take care of matters associated with the pending adoption or surrogacy. This leave may be taken prior to adoption, post-adoption, or birth by a surrogate. (Eligibility: excluding adoption of a new spouse/partner or relative’s child). A total of 20 weeks are available.
